Overview

Blepharoplasty in West Palm Beach

Drooping upper lids and under-eye bags can make you look tired or older than you feel. Blepharoplasty — eyelid rejuvenation surgery — delivers one of the most dramatic improvements per dollar of any procedure in cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Kapp removes excess skin and repositions or removes herniated fat from the upper and lower eyelids. Upper lid surgery corrects drooping that obscures the natural lid crease and can even impair vision. Lower lid surgery removes puffiness and tightens loose skin beneath the eyes. The result is a more alert, refreshed, and youthful expression.

Am I a Candidate?

Healthy women and men who experience drooping upper lids, under-eye bags, excess lower lid skin, or a generally fatigued appearance. Some patients pursue this procedure when upper lid drooping is severe enough to restrict vision — in these cases, insurance may cover the procedure.

The Procedure

Performed under general anesthesia in one to three hours. Incisions are made within natural skin folds of the upper lid and just below the lower lash line — healing nearly invisibly. Excess tissue is precisely removed and sutures close the incisions.

Recovery & Results

Recovery is approximately one week. Instructions include using prescribed eye drops or ointment, keeping the head elevated, and avoiding strenuous activity. Bruising, swelling, and temporary light sensitivity are expected and resolve within one to two weeks.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can insurance cover eyelid surgery?+
Upper blepharoplasty may be covered by insurance when drooping eyelids functionally impair vision. Dr. Kapp's staff can assist with the documentation required for insurance evaluation.
Can upper and lower lids be done together?+
Yes — many patients choose to address both upper and lower lids simultaneously for the most comprehensive rejuvenation.
How long do the results last?+
The structural improvement is long-lasting. Most patients enjoy their results for 10–15 years before any additional refinement is desired.
